Objectives

Destiny Corporation has developed a training solution that allows the U.S. Treasury Department to use Virtual Learning training modules for 400 Internal Revenue Service (IRS) field agents nationwide.

Resolutions

The multimedia modules are being used to train IRS auditors on the use of statistical software that identifies potential tax fraud. In previous years, the IRS agents were brought to off-site facilities for intensive multi-day training sessions. The new training modules allow agents to learn the software without leaving their offices.

Benefits

The IRS has agents dispersed across the country and needed a solution that would enable them to eliminate the enormous time and cost associated with travel and off-site training. The video modules created are a highly effective and informative medium that is helping them bring their auditors up to speed quickly on the software applications. They plan to use the same approach to train auditors on other applications and they also expect to use the modules as reference tools for quick refresher courses.

Destiny chose to publish the IRS modules using secure distribution and auditor authentication. The training modules teach IRS auditors to retrieve information from various data stores, summarize the data, perform common data processing tasks, and present the results in tables and graphs.
